Mobile bird grooming with steady, patient hands
Birds notice everything. We keep the room quiet, the handling brief, and stick to the things a groomer should genuinely be doing — nails, feather condition and a gentle misting.
Staying in their own room changes everything
Birds are far more sensitive to travel, temperature swings and unfamiliar noise than most pets. Removing the journey removes most of the stress before anything else happens.
- No transport box and no move between air-conditioned and outdoor air
- Familiar sounds and familiar cage nearby throughout
- Handling kept as short as the job genuinely needs
- You stay close by, which most birds prefer
We keep to our lane: grooming is nails, feather condition and cleanliness. Anything to do with a bird's health belongs with an avian vet, and we will always say so rather than guess.
A short, focused list
Deliberately limited — these are the things that genuinely help a pet bird.
Nail Trimming
Overgrown nails catch on perches and fabric. Tips taken back carefully, and no further.
Gentle Misting
A light warm-water spray, which most birds enjoy and which helps feather condition.
Wing Feather Trim
Available on request only, and always discussed with you properly before we do anything.
Feather Check
A look over the plumage so you know what is normal moulting and what is worth a vet visit.
Knowing where grooming stops
Plenty of things get sold as mobile bird grooming that really belong to a veterinary surgeon. We would rather turn work down than take a risk with your bird.
- We do not trim, file or shape beaks — a healthy beak looks after itself, and an overgrown one needs a vet
- We do not treat feather plucking, skin problems or injuries
- We do not sedate or restrain a bird beyond gentle, brief handling
- If your bird seems unwell on the day, we stop and tell you
In, done, and left in peace
- Tell us the species and roughly how used to handling your bird is
- We work near the cage, in the room your bird already knows
- Nails first, since that is usually the quickest part
- Misting and a feather check to finish, then straight back to the perch

Which birds do you groom?
Common pet birds — budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds, conures and parrots among them. Tell us the species when you book so we know what to expect and how long to allow.
Do you trim beaks?
No. A healthy bird keeps its own beak in shape, and a beak that has genuinely overgrown is usually a sign of an underlying problem. That needs an avian vet rather than a groomer.
Should I have my bird's wings clipped?
That is a personal decision and opinions differ. We will do it if you ask and if it is appropriate for your bird, but we will not push it, and we are happy to talk through what it does and does not achieve first.
How long does a session take?
Usually short. Nails and a misting for a budgie or cockatiel can be done quickly, which is exactly how it should be — the aim is the least handling that still does the job.
My bird is not hand-tame. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily, but please tell us in advance. Untamed birds need a different approach and a little more time, and we would rather plan for that than surprise your bird on the day.
